In 1999, Jodi, with her late husband and founding Senior Pastor, Eric, packed up and left the Bay Area to move to Utah with their four kids: Caleb, Joshua, Rachel and Rebecca (who were 7, 5, 3, and 1 year old) to plant "The Adventure Church" in Draper. Eric and Jodi were both dramatically changed by the power of God and have given themselves completely to being used to see the Kingdom of God expanded—a passion that has led to the planting of several churches (both home and abroad), with hopes of planting many more!

Jodi loves people, traveling, hiking, good coffee and playing competitive racquetball, as well as teaching people how to apply the Bible to real life and sharing her faith in order to introduce people to Jesus. Eric, who unexpectedly passed away on February 18th, 2016, loved theology, movies, football and motorcycles, and leaves behind an awesome legacy in all the people he invested in both here and abroad!

Ira and Cynthia serve in many capacities at The Adventure. Ira is focused on congregational care, helping people enter into the life of God at our church through Connect, Base Camp and Community Group ministries. Cynthia is serving in the areas of leader mentoring, discipleship, and partnering with Ira in helping people connect. Their passion is seeing people come in contact with the transforming life of Christ either for the first time, or to bring inner healing and deliverance.

Ira is a New Yorker and Jewish at that...which you should be able to tell without any trouble...and is always in search of the perfect bagel! Cynthia is a lifelong Californian, until God called their family out to serve at The Adventure in 2003. They have two wonderful children, Hannah and Joshua.

The Poppers love to roast their own coffee (they are self-proclaimed "coffee snobs"), as well as travel. Ira's favorite movie is called Random Harvest from the 1940's, and Cynthia's is Sleepless in Seattle which she watches regularly whether she needs to or not.

Chase and Daisy (who is our Children's Education Director) oversee Student Ministries at The Adventure, as well as all other age groups from children to college age.

Chase is a native Utahn and Daisy was born in Denver, CO. They met at North Central University in Minneapolis, MN. After pastoring there for a few years, they moved back to the mountains they love so much. Playing outdoors with their three children (Hazel, Zander and Ezekiel) is one of their favorite pastimes. Although Chase is a sports enthusiast (and easily recognized in his vast wardrobe of Steelers wear), you can also find him reading the paper or studying wherever good coffee is found. Daisy will probably be with him, but she'll be reading a novel and munching on chocolate.

Discipling people, young and old, into the Body of Christ is where they find the greatest joy; providing them with opportunities to grow, change and serve others is a joy greater still.

Doug and Kuulei are founding members of The Adventure, coming from their home church in California in January of 1999 as part of the original church plant team. They have a passion to see people come into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ, and through prayer, encouragement and discipleship, see believers grow in their walk with God.

As bi-vocational assisting pastors, they’ve served in a variety of capacities over the years, from leading and discipling young adults, new believers, and young marrieds, to leading hospitality teams. Doug currently heads up baptisms, and Kuulei uses her gift of encouragement to mentor and disciple new and old believers alike. She is currently the Ambassador for Life at the Adventure for The Pregnancy Resource Center, raising awareness within the church body regarding the sanctity of life.

When they were called to Utah in early 1999, they had three very young children, and while Mitchell, Noah, and Waverly are now grown up, God graciously chose to surprise them with a precious baby girl named Liberty through adoption, at 8 months old. While this sudden change in lifestyle has caused them to slow down in their current ministries, Liberty has brought their entire family much joy and laughter and, needless to say, is keeping them on their toes!

Eric and Susie pastor bi-vocationally (Eric is a remodel contractor and Susie is a Realtor) at the Adventure in the areas of Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, discipleship and mentoring, and Base Camp classes.

They are both southern California natives, where they met and married. They moved to Carson City, NV, five years later, raising their three children there before being called to Utah in 2005. As their family has grown, they find themselves grandparents to eight beautiful grandchildren, in whom they find great delight! Eric enjoys camping and traveling, and whenever possible tinkering on his Volkswagen bug. Susie enjoys decorating, cooking, reading, watching a good movie, going for long walks, and playing with her dogs, as well as making hospice visits.

Eric and Susie’s passion has always been, and continues to be, for the building up of the Body of Christ through mentoring in the Word and community with other believers.
